Terms of service
The rules for using Show Up And Play, in plain English. Last updated 10 September 2026.
Show Up And Play is operated by Djamgatech Corp (“we”, “us”, “our”). These terms cover the website at showupandplay.com and the Show Up And Play iOS app, together, the Service. By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
What this is
Show Up And Play publishes researched information about amateur sport in Canada: clubs, governing associations, sanctioned tournaments, registration fees and guides for parents. Everything here was read from the organisation’s own published pages and recorded with the date we read it.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any club, league, association or tournament organiser listed. We don’t use their logos or branding. Club and association names and marks belong to them.
Accuracy, the part that matters
We research carefully and we date what we publish. We also say plainly when an organisation publishes nothing, rather than guessing: a fee shown as not published means the club doesn’t publish one, and a deadline shown as not published is not the same as an open one.
Even so, organisations change fees, dates, age groups and deadlines without telling us, and we can be wrong or out of date. Always confirm directly with the club or organiser before you register, pay, or book travel. We are not liable for a decision made on information here that turned out to be stale or mistaken. If you find something wrong, please tell us. It is the most useful message you can send.
The assistant (Ask)
Ask answers questions using a third-party AI model working from our researched records, and it cites the record behind each claim so you can check it yourself. Please do check it. A generated answer can be wrong, incomplete or out of date even when every source it names is real.
Ask is not advice (not legal, medical, financial, coaching or safeguarding advice), and it is not connected to any club’s registration, payment or scheduling system. It cannot see your child’s team, schedule, fees owed or registration status, and it will tell you so rather than invent an answer.
Please don’t type personal or sensitive information into Ask. There is never a reason to include a child’s name.
Accounts
Browsing clubs, tournaments and guides needs no account. Ask does, because each answer costs us a call to an AI provider, so questions are counted per person rather than as one pool everybody shares.
- Accounts are free, and for your own use. Keep your credentials to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- One account per person. Creating accounts in bulk to get around the question limit is a breach of these terms.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms in your jurisdiction. The Service is built for parents, guardians, coaches and adult players, and is not directed at children.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the iOS app, the Ask tab, the person icon, then Delete account. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Fair use
Use the Service the way a person looking for a club would. Please don’t:
- scrape, crawl or bulk-extract the club, association or tournament data, or republish it as a competing dataset;
- automate the assistant, or try to exhaust its daily budget;
- attempt to make it produce false, harmful or defamatory statements about a club or a person;
- use anything here to harass an organisation or an individual, or to build a profile of one;
- interfere with the Service, or try to reach parts of it that aren’t public.
The underlying facts (what a club charges, when a tournament runs) belong to nobody. Our compilation, research, writing and guides are ours. Quote us with a link; don’t copy the corpus wholesale.
Listings, and what money cannot buy
Clubs and associations are researched and listed for free, whether or not they have any relationship with us. That will not change.
Where an organisation chooses to claim its listing, confirming what we researched and keeping it current, that is disclosed on the listing as a verification date. Payment never buys placement, ranking, or the removal of a record, and it never changes what not published means. If it did, the data would be worth nothing to the parent reading it.
Paid features
The iOS app is free and contains nothing to buy. Where a paid feature is offered on the website, payment is processed by Stripe under their terms; we don’t see or store your card details. Anything about renewals, cancellation and refunds will be stated at the point of purchase.
Links and third parties
The Service links out to clubs, associations and organisers constantly. That is rather the point. Those sites are not ours, and we are not responsible for their content, terms, privacy practices or anything you do there. The website also carries advertising on its article pages; the app carries none.
Availability
The Service is provided free and as-is. We don’t promise it will always be available, and we may change, limit or discontinue any part of it, including the assistant’s daily question limits, as costs and circumstances require. The club and tournament data ships inside the iOS app, so those screens keep working with no connection.
Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Djamgatech Corp is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost registration fees, travel costs or missed deadlines arising from your use of the Service. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under consumer protection legislation, which may give you rights these terms cannot take away.
If you are using the iOS app
Your licence to the app is granted by Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, alongside these terms. Apple is not a party to these terms, is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Support comes from us, at our contact page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
